Interpublic Files 10-K/A

October 17, 2005 at 12:00 AM EDT

New York, NY (October 17, 2005) – The Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) said that today it has amended its 2004 10-K filed September 30, 2005 to correct certain tax-related matters and a number of typographical errors. The company also stated that the amended filing has no impact on its annual financial statements for 2002 through 2004, or on the cumulative impact of the restatement, as both were presented in its September 30 filing.

In its 2004 10-K, the company restated previously reported financial results for periods from 2000 to 2004. In the amended filing, the company said it corrected a certain tax related matter affecting 2001 and an offsetting effect in periods prior to 2000, in addition to certain tax allocation corrections associated with the categories that describe the causes of restatement. There was no effect on net income in any restated period as a result of these re-allocations of tax effects. For a complete description, investors can access the company's Form 10-K/A dated October 17, 2005, which is available at www.interpublic.com.
