Interpublic Re-Schedules Second Quarter Earnings Release

NEW YORK, NY (August 5, 2002)—The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc., today re-scheduled its second quarter earnings release to accommodate the Audit Committee of its Board of Directors. The Committee postponed its regular meeting, which was to have taken place today, until Monday, August 12, so it could complete its review prior to management certification of its financial statements. The Company will announce its second quarter results after the 4 PM (EDT) close of the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, August 13, 2002.

Following the earnings release, management will host a conference call to discuss results at 5 PM. Investors are invited to access the discussion and supporting materials at the financial section of the Company's website, www. interpublic.com.
