Heide Gardner Honored by the Network Journal as One of Its '25 Influential Black Women in Business'

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2008--Heide Gardner, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity & Inclusion of the Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG), has been selected as one of the "25 Influential Black Women in Business" by The Network Journal, New York tri-state area's premier business magazine for African-American professionals and business owners. The select group will be profiled in the special March issue of the magazine and will be formally honored during Women's History Month at the "Tenth Annual 25 Influential Black Women in Business Awards" luncheon on Thursday, March 13.

Ms. Gardner is responsible for collaborating with senior management to develop new inclusion management strategies and programs for Interpublic and its family of leading agency brands. "Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is a significant priority for Interpublic. Prior to joining Interpublic, Heide was Senior Vice President of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and the founding Executive Director of The AAF Mosaic Center on Multiculturalism. During her tenure there, she was responsible for the development and implementation of innovative programs to promote diversity and a more methodical, strategic approach to brand building among multicultural consumers. She has previously worked in marketing services, lobbying and community affairs roles for companies including Advo-System, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Colgate-Palmolive, Pepsi-Cola North America and NationsBank.
