Interpublic Consolidates ICC Lowe Health Brands with FCB Health

March 3, 2015 at 2:30 PM EST

New York, NY - March 3, 2015 - Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) announced today that it has consolidated the ICC Lowe health brands, including Trio and Pace, into FCB Health. Dana Maiman, CEO of FCB Health, will oversee the consolidated FCB Health agencies.

FCB Health, named Most Creative Agency by Medical Advertising News in four out of the past five years, is one of the largest healthcare marketing companies in the world and, post consolidation, will have approximately 1600 employees globally. Full-service FCB Health agencies include FCB Health, Area 23 and Neon; specialty FCB Health agencies include Hudson Global, Mosaic and ProHealth.

FCB Health and Integrated Communications (ICC) share multiple blue-chip clients including J&J, Boehringer Ingelheim, Novartis and Actavis. The consolidation aims to further boost the offering to those major healthcare marketers as well as provide enhanced offerings to those clients unique to ICC.

"More and more, we're seeing healthcare business contested at the holding company level, with clients looking for truly comprehensive global solutions. We believe there is a real opportunity in focusing our healthcare marketing investment behind two strong global networks, McCann Health and FCB Health," commented Michael Roth, Chairman and CEO of Interpublic. "FCB Health has been a star in the IPG network, with award-winning work, a strong new business track record and outstanding growth. Their operations have more than tripled in size under Dana's leadership and we're committed to supporting and building on this success on a global basis. We see an opportunity for more efficiencies in how we operate with this new streamlined global structure," Mr. Roth said. "We thank Steve Viviano for making ICC a leader in its space and for his 22 years of service at the agency. We wish him well in his ongoing industry activity."

Core competencies within the ICC network include strong medical education and HCP promotion of OTC brands, all of which are complimentary to FCB Health's offering. Ms. Maiman explained, "The consolidation will bring additional talent and resources into the fold and allow FCB Health to continue to expand its global footprint. With tremendous growth across the burgeoning FCB Health network, we anticipate many opportunities for talent development and retention across agencies."

"We're excited to combine our capabilities to continue to over-deliver for our clients," continued Ms. Maiman. "Having established offices in New Jersey where so many of our clients are based is an added bonus. And, as our organizations have collaborated in the past on shared clients, we know this alignment will create something truly special."

As the agencies will remain separate entities, there are no anticipated conflict issues. Management across the newly consolidated agencies will remain in place and report to Ms. Maiman and FCB Health's leadership team of Chief Creative Officer Rich Levy, Chief Strategy Officer Mike Guarino, Chief Financial Officer Tom Kelly and Chief Talent Officer Lisa DuJat.

Steve Viviano, ICC Lowe's CEO, will remain through an appropriate transition period. Mr. Viviano has chosen not to remain with the company under the new structure and will explore other options in the industry.

"FCB Health has a tried-and-true process for delivering multi-channel creative that is proven to change behavior," said Maiman. "We're excited to bring this award-winning approach to ICC and their clients."
