Interpublic Plans Bond Offering

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2004--The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (NYSE: IPG) today announced that it plans, subject to market conditions, to offer approximately $500 million principal amount of senior debt securities, consisting of five and ten year maturities. Citigroup Global Markets, Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and UBS Securities LLC are the joint book-running managers in the offering.

Interpublic's long-term debt is rated Baa3 (Stable) by Moody's Investors Services, BB+ (Negative CreditWatch) by Standard & Poor's and BB+ (Stable) by Fitch.

Interpublic intends to use proceeds from the offerings to repay $250 million principal amount of its 7.875% notes due 2005 and to redeem in whole or in part its 1.87% convertible subordinated notes due 2006.
